Into the quiet

Wake to forest light on a crater lake, spend the day exploring, and return to Bahundu where the world falls quiet.

Discover Bahundu

Lake Nyinabulitwa · Fort Portal

Where the road ends, the stillness begins.

Past Fort Portal and the last of the tarmac, Bahundu settles into the trees beside an ancient crater lake. Five cottages, less than a kilometre from Kibale National Park, keep the experience personal and the landscape close.

The road in

You notice the quiet before you see the lake.

The track reaches a clearing of thatched roofs in the trees. Woodsmoke, cut grass and cool lake air arrive first. Then the water appears below the lawns, holding the forest in its reflection.

At the water’s edge

The lake changes your pace

From the water, Bahundu Safari Lodge recedes into the canopy: five cottage roofs, a quiet shoreline and very little competing for your attention. The small lakeside setting gives guests space to relax, reconnect and enjoy the day at their own pace.
